Creative Development

Coached job-shadowing in Denmark for creative professionals

September 11, 2026 — December 11, 2026

9 am — 12 pm

We’re launching a free, job‑shadowing programme where you will spend a day with a peer in Denmark, see how they work in practice, and bring back ideas they can apply straight away, while developing a cross‑border network that opens doors to future collaborations and markets. In addition, as part of the process you get the opportunity to work with a professional coach in a group.

Job Shadowing

Job‑shadowing is a hands-on way of learning that builds relationships, deepens understanding and turns insight into action—for you, your organisation, and in the long term the Öresund region’s creative ecosystem. You identify what you want to learn, for example, working methods, practices and tools, or explore potential collaborations or business opportunities on the other side of the strait. Additionally which person, organisation or role you would like to ‘shadow’ for a day at their workplace A certified coach supports you via group coaching sessions throughout the process to ensure you can meaningfully absorb the new insights that emerge during the job‑shadowing in order to develop an action plan. You’ll also receive support from fellow participants and Media Evolution’s professional network. Please note there is a limited amount of seats available, so send in your application as soon as possible. All applications will be reviewed and responded to during June 2026.

What you’ll gain

  • Fresh industry insight from real‑world practice
  • Space to formulate a concrete, sustainable action plan guided by a certified coach
  • Practical methods, tools and ways of working with your professional development
  • New professional contacts on both sides of the strait
  • Support to explore collaborations and international opportunities
  • A community of fellow peer participants that extends beyond the job-shadowing period

Who it’s for

The job‑shadowing initiative is for professionals in Skåne from across the cultural and creative industries, as well as those applying creative skills in other sectors. We welcome participants in different stages of their careers, from freelancers and small companies, public organisations, enterprises, associations and foundations—anyone willing to trust the process and take part in the job‑shadowing with curiosity and openness. Please note that you need to have a Swedish organisation number to be accepted.

How it works

  1. Prepare (group coaching): Set your goals, questions and focus areas.
  2. Shadow (one day in Denmark): Follow your host at their workplace, observe workflows and gain practical knowledge.
  3. Apply your insights (group coaching): Reflect, distill your takeaways and turn them into a clear, personal action plan.
  4. Along the way, we’ll set up a buddy system (accountability partners) so you can support each other beyond the programme.

Schedule & format

Workshop 1: 11 September 2026, 09-12 AM Media Evolution, Malmö

This highly interactive workshop builds a sense of community and network: participants share initial thoughts, set individual goals and make an inventory of their competences and needs in a group setting. We’ll also set up a buddy system/accountable peers to support one another going forward.

Individual job‑shadowing sessions: September–November 2026

In practical terms, job shadowing means that a person follows and observes another individual for a day at their workplace to learn about their work tasks and work processes in practice. Job shadowing is primarily observation-based, allowing you to watch, listen, and ask questions that will support you to gain new insights and knowledge that you apply to your own practice.

Feedback sessions with the coach will be offered online on three occasions (voluntary participatory). During the individual job-shadowing phase you will be able to attend online feedback sessions together with the coach and peer participants, where you together will focus on specific needs or questions and give each other support in the process.

Workshop 2: 11 December 2026, 09-12 AM, Media Evolution, Malmö

Participants meet to share learning and reflections, looking for synergies and opportunities for co‑creation. Guided by the coach, you will create individual, sustainable action plans. We’ll also check in on the buddy system/accountable peers to explore how to keep supporting one another long‑term.

Please note that you must be able to attend both on site-workshops (online feedback is optional).

  • Language: English
  • Costs: The training is free of charge thanks to funding from the European Social Fund.
  • Level: No prior knowledge required. The key thing is that you are motivated to challenge yourself and explore new opportunities and learning alongside like‑minded peers.

How to apply

  • Please complete the application form before May 8. You will be asked to share what motivates you and who—or which organisation—you would like to shadow. You may already have an established contact, or Media Evolution can help you find a suitable organisation that you can contact. The most important thing is that you are motivated to challenge yourself and explore new opportunities and learn with and from like‑minded people.
  • Press the ‘Sign me up!’ button at the top of the page and fill in the registration form on Eventbrite; it takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
  • The course is free of charge thanks to funding from the European Social Fund, therefore we need to collect statistics and personal data about all participants and their organisations.
  • To take part, you need to be employed or self‑employed and based in Skåne. Unfortunately, students or unemployed persons cannot participate.
  • Once you have registered your interest, Media Evolution will contact you and inform whether you have been accepted to the programme, during June 2026.
  • An authorised signatory from your company will be asked to sign a certificate confirming your participation. Only once the certificate is signed, your place is confirmed.
  • You are then enrolled in our skills development programme and will have the opportunity to connect with other like‑minded professionals, as well as receive regular updates on what’s happening across Media Evolution’s community.

This training is part of Create, Adapt, Sustain – a project that supports creative professionals in Skåne to strengthen digital skills, leadership and Futures thinking. It is run by Media Evolution in collaboration with Region Skåne and The City of Malmö with funding from the European Social Fund.
