How might AI shape how we will work together in 2036?
In our latest Collaborative Foresight cycle on Futures of Human Collaboration and AI, Media Evolution, in collaboration with DigIT Hub Sweden, invites professionals from diverse backgrounds, across knowledge work and manufacturing, to explore the futures of human-to-human collaboration at work: how relationships, trust, communication, coordination, knowledge-sharing, creativity and collective decision-making might evolve as AI systems become more embedded in our organisations and everyday work.
We’re looking for Core Group participants from diverse backgrounds who have professional, academic or lived experiences of, and interest in, how AI shapes human collaboration at work. We are particularly interested in bringing together people working in different environments: from offices and distributed teams to factories and production settings.
Spend a total of three days in a group of 15–20 other participants together exploring futures of the topic facilitated by Media Evolution’s foresight lead.
Draw on your different expertise and experiences and identify and make sense of signals and drivers of change shaping the futures of AI and human collaboration at work.
Develop futures scenarios describing a range of possible futures.
Explore what these scenarios might mean for relationships, coordination and collaboration within teams, across workplaces and between organisations.
Lay out approaches and strategies for what organisations and individuals might do to prepare for, adapt to and actively and intentionally shape how we collaborate in the future.
Get access to our unique method and tools for practicing foresight in a collaborative setting. You’ll walk away with novel insights, connections and skills and methods to bring futures thinking and Collaborative Foresight into your own work, team or organisation.
The course will be led by Reeta Hafner, Foresight lead at Media Evolution, drawing on our long experience in supporting teams and groups work with the future and change. Media Evolution’s approach to foresight, Collaborative Foresight, is inclusive, open-source and evolving and connects insights from across industries and sectors, and turns them into strategies for change.
Format: Three full day workshop sessions at Media Evolution. To participate, you need to be able to attend all the workshop sessions.
Dates: Fridays 23 October, 6 November and 20 November 2026. All course sessions run from 08:30–16:00.
Place: In-person at Media Evolution, Stora Varvsgatan 6A Malmö.
Costs: The participation in the core group is free of charge thanks to funding from the European Union. Please note that because this cycle is part of an EU-funded project, you will be requested to sign a de minimis certificate (companies), or a value certificate (värdeintyg) (public sector organisations). You can read more about it here. Media Evolution helps with the practical aspects of this.
Language: The workshops will be held in English.
Preparation: Before the first session, participants will need to complete a short survey and a pre-assignment to map signals of change. Instructions will be shared two weeks prior to the first workshop. There will also be optional assignments in between sessions for those participants who wish to engage their teams or network in the topic.
Press the “Sign me up!” button at the top of the page and leave your registration of interest. We from Media Evolution will contact you shortly to collect additional information about your company or organization. An authorized signatory will then be asked to sign a certificate that confirms your participation. Once the certificate is signed, your seat is confirmed.
Feel free to contact Lisa Jedlid if you have any questions regarding the registration of interest and the core group at lisa@mediaevolution.se.
Friday, October 23
In this opening workshop, we’ll lay the groundwork for the work ahead by looking back at the past and present and mapping out different dynamics of change shaping the futures of collaboration as a result of AI. From these, we will uncover key shifts and uncertainties impacting how collaboration might shift in the future.
Friday, November 6
In this workshop, we will use the uncertainties and shifts identified in the previous workshop to create scenarios of possible futures of AI and human collaboration. We will explore implications and imagine future situations in which humans collaborate at work.
Friday, November 20
In this final workshop, we will revisit our scenarios in light of feedback from the community. We’ll then use them to uncover key assumptions and visions for futures of AI and human collaborations to strategic insights and perspectives that can help us to make intentional decisions going forward.
In the workshops, we will be joined by an author who will write fictional stories situated in the futures scenarios the core group creates. These stories will be accompanied by perspectives from practitioners and researchers. You can take a look at our previous books here.
This workshop marks the beginning of the Futures of Human Collaboration and AI, hosted by Media Evolution in collaboration with DigIT Hub Sweden. DigIT Hub Sweden supports digital transformation in companies and the public sector in southern Sweden. The initiative is co-funded by the European Union, Tillväxtverket, Växjö Linnaeus Science Park, Region Blekinge and Region Skåne.
