Lund is largely characterized by the university as an international center for education, research and development. The university has more than 40,000 students and more researchers than any other Scandinavian university. This is combined in Lund with a strong research-based global business community. The business sector’s role is to stimulate sustainable growth in Lund, thereby creating a larger revenue base for the municipality.
